About Us & Our Mission

Humanely Managing Community Cats on O'ahu

To humanely decrease the abandoned and community (feral) cat population through the widely accepted, non-lethal Trap, Neuter, Return, and Manage (TNRM) methodology.

To foster compassion among our island's kama'aina and visitors.

To encourage the removal of friendly cats and kittens for fostering, adoption, and to reunite lost felines who have found their way into colonies.

What We Do

Programs & Services

Free Spay/Neuter Clinics

Regular public spay/neuter clinics for free-roaming feral and community cats, held at least once a month at our Kunia location. No charge for sterilization; donations accepted.

Trap Loan Program

We loan humane animal traps to registered clinic participants, providing instructions and support to colony caretakers — including first-time trappers. Requires a $100 refundable deposit per trap.

Mass Trapping Assistance

We coordinate large-scale trapping operations for colonies of 10 or more cats, training caretakers and deploying volunteers to sterilize the majority of a colony in a single effort.

TNRM Education & Outreach

We provide TNRM training, educational resources, and guidance to residential, business, government, and military communities on responsible and humane community cat caretaking.

Volunteer Program

Engage as a volunteer across all roles: clinic staffing, trapping, transporting, cat monitoring post-surgery, paperwork, and cleaning. Open to ages 12+ with guardian consent.

Ways to Help

CatFriends is 100% donor-funded and all-volunteer. Every dollar goes directly toward animal care costs including sterilization, trapping, microchipping, and medical attention.
